Avioxx was named the Bronze Champion in Sustainability at the Engineering Matters Awards gala, an event to celebrate engineers working towards making the world a better place. Avioxx was shortlisted for the Sustainability Champion award, an accolade which recognised the innovation of the company for their patented process to turn non-recyclable household waste into Sustainable Aviation Fuel. This category acknowledged companies like Avioxx who are playing a significant role in combating climate change by reducing waste and recycling or reusing materials. It was one of the most competitive categories of the evening, reflecting the core of engineering - the transformation of materials. Earning the Bronze Award is a proud achievement for the Avioxx team, highlighting the company’s potential for growth and its bold vision to redefine the future of fuel production.

"The assessment criteria for the Engineering Matters Awards include the principles of global responsibility—responsible, purposeful, inclusive and regenerative—that we actively promote,"

John Kraus, CEO, Engineers Without Borders UK.

It was incredible to see the sustainability category filled with so many promising and successful companies to connect with and celebrate. Avioxx’s novel process was recognised alongside Versinetic’s LinkRay and custom EVerest EV charging implementation, Frugalpac’s eco-friendly bottle packaging, Cityshuttle’s innovative approach to sustainable urban passenger and commercial transport, and many other inspiring projects dedicated to developing sustainable solutions. With businesses like Magna, ABB, Fugro, BindEthics and more, it was a truly inspiring night being surrounded by the success and forward-thinking attitudes of companies like Avioxx striving to make a difference.

"It was overwhelming to be recognised in such a competitive field and to connect with such passionate people at the event. It was truly inspiring to be surrounded by such innovation."

The categories of Net Zero, Sustainability, and Environment had forty entries, each offering remarkable solutions to do not only what is needed, but what is necessary to protect the foundation of future generations. While awards ceremonies are inherently competitive, Engineering Matters ensured that recognition was based solely on merit. Much like the field of sustainability itself, the night recognised that true success comes from the collective efforts of all those striving toward a common goal.

As a pioneer in Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Avioxx acknowledges that real progress is driven by the combined efforts of businesses working toward a greener future. Engineering Matters matched this attitude by championing all deserving businesses who are pushing boundaries and positively impacting the world with their engineering and creativity. As highlighted during the event, engineering truly matters—and it is the driving force behind a better future.
